KTA – Consulting Engineers – Jurutera Perunding – Sarawak Malaysia

Overseas Projects

In our pursuit of new challenges, we have taken up consultancy services for several fascinating international projects. We were the checking consultant for the Catering Facilities (project valued at RM1 billion) for the Doha International Airport, Qatar. We were also appointed the design consultant for the drainage and associated civil works for the same project. KTA (Sarawak) has also successfully undertaken projects in Iraq, Pakistan, India, Philippines and Cambodia (Phnom Penh Pochentong Airport and US Embassy Annex Building as well as the Siem Reap Airport).

For the Doha Airport project, where the client was represented by Bechtel International from USA, our performance was measured against other international consultants, the likes of which include Parsons, Scott Wilson and Halcrow. We were approved by Bechtel as one of the few checking consultants for the project. For the US Embassy Annex Building in Phnom Penh, our client was the US Government. We are proud to have worked side-by-side with these international clients and partners.

CATERING FACILITIES FOR DOHA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, QATAR

KTA was the independent checking consultant for civil, structural, mechanical and electrical services for the Doha International Airport Catering Building in Qatar, in operation since April 2014.

The catering facility consists of 20 unique kitchens with sub-kitchens and bakeries to supply meals to more than 50 airlines. It is designed to HACCP Standards, to operate based on the “just-in-time” process between the food preparation and delivery to the awaiting aircrafts.

The building is separated into different sanitation zones, emphasising food safety and efficient logistics operations. The entire facility is equipped with an extensive vacuum suction system to remove food waste at its sources.

We worked shoulder-to-shoulder with various international consultants to successfully deliver this project as one of the region’s leading airports.
