KTA (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd started off in 1979 in Kuching, Sarawak as an associated engineering consultancy company of Kumarasivam, Tan and Ariffin Sdn Bhd (based in Kuala Lumpur) offering mechanical, electrical, civil and structural engineering services.

The firm grew quickly and in 1992, we were detached from our parent firm, becoming a fully Sarawak entity. In 1995, we expanded and opened a branch office in Petaling Jaya. By 1996, KTA (Sarawak) was ranked among the 10 largest engineering consulting firms in Malaysia, and the largest in Sarawak. Now with over 300 staff, we are among the
8 largest consulting firms in Malaysia (ref: ACEM 2021 year book).
